The estimated market for
flyers is currently $1.2
billion. Growth is projected at
4.5% per year for the next five
years. Flyers have often been
relegated to one- and two-color
conventional printing in the
past, due to cost and speed.
Digital color printing is now
beginning to dominate this
market. Flyers are typically
used by small to medium
companies and individuals to
advertise sales, events, etc.
Whether mailed, handed out, or
posted, this very American
medium is getting new life and
usage with the addition of full
color. A local technology firm
needed to print sales
flyers/inserts, using
conventional color printing to
promote sales of their products.
They typically purchased longer
runs than they really needed.
The customer was often paying a
premium, unless they were able
to “gang” runs of several flyers
together at the same time. They
also were also not satisfied
with the turnaround time of
conventional printing. Rather
than reverting to color copies,
they decided to print digital.
Customers were knocked out by
the beautiful color and high
gloss look when their flyers
were printed on our HP Indigo
digital press 3050, not to
mention the fast service! Most
often, customers find the real
cost of their marketing
collateral is less than before.
